Elk Grove City Council Member's Gary Davis and Steve Detrick have amassed substantial war chests for next year's city council and mayoral races.
Davis has formally announced that he will be running to become Elk Grove's first directly elected mayor and Detrick will be seeking his second term as a council member.
Loads of cash
According to filings with the Elk Grove City Clerk's office, as of the June 30 filing Davis has $36,041 in cash. During this time period Davis received $28,650 in contributions.
Detrick has $48,287 in cash and received $78,930 in contribution. Detrick repaid himself $25,000 from a loan he made to his 2008 campaign.
